Celebrating 150 years in Saint Louis

In 1863, Peter Richard Kenrick, Archbishop of Saint Louis, invited the Carmelite Nuns in Baltimore to make the trek across the country to found the second Carmel in the United States.  October first is both our Foundation Day and the feast of our fellow Carmelite, Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, Patroness of the Missions who drew the United States as her mission country to pray for during the last year of her life. Through her heavenly intercession, the prayers and support of so many faithful souls, and through His Almighty Providence and infinite Mercy, these sisters celebrated 150 years of service to God and the Church in the Archdiocese of Saint Louis. Join us in prayer and thanksgiving for the many blessings and infinite mercy the Lord has bestowed upon his lowly servants.
